Bytnica [bɨtˈnit͡sa] (formerly German Beutnitz) is a village in Krosno Odrzańskie County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Bytnica.[1] It lies approximately 14 kilometres (9 mi) north of Krosno Odrzańskie, 33 km (21 mi) north-west of Zielona Góra, and 65 km (40 mi) south of Gorzów Wielkopolski.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (see Territorial changes of Poland after World War II).
The village has a population of 1,200.
