Burripalem (Telugu: బుర్రిపాలెం) is a village in Tenali mandal in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, India. It has a population of 2,800 (2001 census). It is located 6 km east from Tenali Town.

Overview

Burripalem has a history of 400 years. It is named after a woman Burriamma the first settler and she was a war widow. It is said that she came from present Chittor district area, which was then ruled by Krishnadevaraya. Over the years it is well known for its rich legacy of its contribution to movements, films and education, It has produced many great leaders who participated in movements such as Sarvodaya, Bhoodan campaign, Library movement. It is also a land of scholars, actors and academicians. Famous actor of Telugu Film Industry Tollywood Super Star Krishna is from this village. A movie was also made in the name of this village Burripalem Bullodu.

Major crops include rice, blackgram, corn, turmeric, and sugarcane.
