Bulphan is a village in the borough of Thurrock in the East of England and one of the traditional (Church of England) parishes in Thurrock. It is pronounced 'Bull-ven' though newcomers often mispronounce it as 'Bul-fan'.

Bulphan forms part of the Orsett ward of Thurrock Council, and is part of the Thurrock parliamentary constituency. Following a boundary review it will become part of South Basildon and East Thurrock for the next general election.

It is located 21 miles (34 km) east north-east of Charing Cross in London. The Upminster post town forms a long, thin protrusion eastwards over the M25 motorway and the Greater London boundary in order to include the village.

The main features of Bulphan are the Bulphan Village Hall and Park, St Mary The Virgin's Church, the Post Office, and Bulphan Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School.

Bulphan is fairly isolated and only has two bus services: the 265, which runs up to four times per day, Monday to Friday, between Brentwood and Lakeside Shopping Centre; and the 565, which runs from Brentwood Station to Grays via West Horndon (hourly, Monday to Saturday). School buses also connect Bulphan with Palmers College in Grays, and the 269 service stops on the A128 en route to Thurrock College. The nearest railway station is three miles away.
