Brookfield Center is a census-designated place (CDP) in Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,288 at the 2000 census. It is part of the YoungstownWarrenBoardman, OH-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Demographics

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 1,288 people, 543 households, and 379 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 173.9/km² (450.7/mi²). There were 567 housing units at an average density of 76.5/km² (198.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.84% White, 0.62% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.08% from other races, and 0.31% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.93% of the population.

There were 543 households out of which 22.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.7% were married couples living together, 7.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.2% were non-families. 26.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.84.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 19.0% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 20.3% from 25 to 44, 30.6% from 45 to 64, and 23.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 47 years. For every 100 females there were 95.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $46,667, and the median income for a family was $65,104. Males had a median income of $39,375 versus $23,906 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $22,055. About 3.0% of families and 6.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under age 18 and 10.6% of those age 65 or over.
