Broken Rainbow is also a LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) charity organisation created to help raise awareness and combat same-sex domestic violence and abuse.[1]
The UK charity Broken Rainbow was formed in 2004 after seeing the lack of service provision dealing with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who experience domestic violence and abuse. Domestic violence is “any incident of threatening behavior, violence, or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between adults who are or have been intimate partners, or family members, regardless of gender or sexuality”"
With funding from The Nationwide Foundation [2] and the Home Office,[2] they run the only UK LGBT domestic violence helpline. They also raise awareness of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans issues surrounding domestic violence in the UK and lobby MPs (UK members of parliament).
