The Church of England parish church of Saint Bartholomew was built in the 14th century in the Decorated Gothic style. The chancel includes the remains of a 13th century lancet window, a remnant of an earlier church building on the site. The Perpendicular Gothic east window and west tower were added in the 15th century.[2] The bell tower has a ring of six bells. The tenor bell was cast in the 15th century and another of the bells was cast in 1637.[3] The remaining four were cast by Mears and Stainbank in 1911.[3]
The Lord Nelson public house dates from the 17th or 18th century.[4] It is now a gastropub.[5]
Brightwell Park was a country house built in about 1790. It has been demolished, but its kitchen wing, stables and cruciform 17th-century dovecote survive.[6]
