Brecljevo is a settlement in the Šmarje pri Jelšah municipality in eastern Slovenia. It lies in the hills to the south of Šmarje. The area was traditionally part of Lower Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja statistical region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to Saint Thomas and belongs to the Šmarje pri Jelšah parish. It dates originally to the 15th century but was extensiveley rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries.[3]
