- John Robert (Jack) Arnold (d. August 13, 2010) was born and raised in Brantford and later became a businessman in the city. He served in the Canadian Navy during his youth and was stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia during World War II.[1] Arnold became a pilot in the 1960s, developed a reputation for his work in aviation history, and restored several vintage planes.[2] He died in 2010, at age eighty-three.
- George AuCoin worked at a farm equipment factory in Brantford until 1985.[3] Like some other candidates in the 1972 election, he opposed a proposed expressway that was controversial in his ward.[4] He later moved to Victoria, British Columbia. In 1997, he criticized the University of Victoria for giving an honorary degree to Chinese president Jiang Zemin.[5]
