History

Braddock, a town that existed from 1946 to 1964, is now just one crumbling wood dance/meeting hall and a water well that has been updated by one of the remaining families in 2010. It once flourished with two grain elevators, railway, church, housing, Esso station, and two streets: Main Street and Railway Street. At its peak, there was a population of approximately 50 people. Once a month, there would be dance held at the community hall, where people would come from miles around and would dance and visit until early in the morning. Then, community get-togethers were very popular as it was long before the time of televisions, computers, and phones. These were so popular that many people who attended these parties still remember fellow dancers, but when the elvators were torn down, the rest of the town went with it.
