BotFighters

BotFighters is a mobile game developed by It's Alive!, mainly known because it was one of the world's first mobile games to take advantage of location-based services. It was released in 2001 in Sweden, and later also in Russia[1], Finland, and Ireland[2].

In 2002, it was awarded with an Award of Distinction in the Net Vision category in the Prix Ars Electronica[3].

The mission of the game was to locate and destroy other robots, and when a target was destroyed, the player advanced on the high score list and earned credits. The credits could be used for buying new weapons, recharge the robot's battery and other upgrades of the robot on the BotFighters website.
