Boldrewood Campus

Boldrewood was the Biomedical Sciences campus of the University of Southampton, England. It was home to the School of Biological Sciences which encompasses the degree titles and research of Biology, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biomedical sciences and Pharmacology. It was also the non-hospital base for the School of Medicine.

In April 2006, the University announced plans to develop a 'professional campus' on the Boldrewood site. The re-developed campus will house the marine services division of Lloyd's Register who have announced a strategic alliance with the University.[1] The campus will also be the new home of the School of Management. At the same time announcement plans for the new Life Sciences Building on the Highfield Campus were unveiled and demolition of the university owned houses currently on the site began. The lecture theatres (apart from lecture theatre five) in Boldrewood were closed in the Summer of 2007, and subsequently demolished. In October 2010 the Boldrewood Campus was fully closed and decommissioning began, after the relocation of staff and students to the completed Life Sciences Building.[2]
