Bogosavac is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Šabac municipality, in the Mačva District. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbers 1,159 people (2002 census). Larger families living in Bogosavac are Srnic, Marinkovic, Vucetic, Jovanic. After the World War II village Bogosavac established the football (soccer) club "Sloga" that never in history did not stop working, competing mainly in the lower ranks of the municipal. Orthodox Church in Bogosavac built in the late eighties of the twentieth century by the villagers contributions, is dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Mary Magdalene). The population is Orthodox. At the beginning of World War I civilian casualties is a lot, considering that the village is near the mountain Cer through which came the first rush of the German invaders in the famous Battle of Cer. In the center of village is a monument to Stanislav Stasko Sondermajer, youngest hero in Battle of Cer.
Stanislav Stasko Sondermajer youngest fighter who was defending his homeland, died on 5th of August 1914. in the Battle of Cer. Villagers of Bogosavac, built the monument by his grave in the center of the village and organized a memorial on 5th August 2011. The fighting near in the village of Dobric, on 5th of August 1914. was killed in the Battle of Cer, youngest hero, a student of sixth-grade in Belgrade Second Gymnasium - Stanislav Stasko Sondermajer. "From my heart lamented, young, yet so famous, a little hero of the Third Cavalry Regiment eternal dream of staying in the field of honor," was wroten on his professor Ibrovac. Brought up in patriotic spirit, the son of the distinguished surgeon and medical colonel Roman Sondermajer and Stanislava Djuric was 16 when war broke out. Older brother of Stasko is Tadija Sondermajer famous Serbian pilot and aeronautical engineer. While the men prepared for the front, the boy stood in front of his father Roman and asking to go on, but did not get permission. "He likes the Serbs and Serbia, because they went to war. Little Stanislav fled the war where it reported somewhere near city of Sabac. He participated in the Battle of Cer, where he died four or five days after arrival," says his relative Zagorka Sondermajer. Determined to be in service in the background, the boy begged to be so honored to join the battle line, and his suffering with a gun in his hand caused the tears in the eyes of many warriors. Women, sisters, mothers of Bogosavac village, came out to the battlefield and found the body of a young boy in a sailor's uniform, took him, brought to the center of the village and buried at the place where he rests today. The blouse dead boy was found wrapped in a handkerchief diary in which he describes how he defeated the mother's death two days after mobilization and the atmosphere at the front. The song he repaid famous poetess Isidora Sekulic, which is part of the family announced the approval of the first anniversary of the Stasko’s death on 5th of August 2011.: “So long without happiness, I was gladdened with diadem of your clean, boy’s eyes. You told me about your love to Serbia, about freedom and one prince. And together with you, I loved Serbia".
