Extensions

New construction

A small extension of length 2.57 km has been recently constructed and opened on July 14, 2011 [8] connecting Anand Vihar station of the Blue Line branch with Vashali Metro station in Ghaziabad, a satellite city of Delhi. The extension was to be inaugurated by March 2011.[9]

Planned extensions

Several extensions of Line 3 are envisioned. Since the line has extended to the satellite city of Noida, the Uttar Pradesh government has expressed interest in extending the network further into the city of Noida.[10] It has also shown interest in a metro connection to the proposed new airport in Jewar near Greater Noida.[11] The other part of the eastern extension of this line from Vashali Metro station in Ghaziabad is also proposed to be extended further East to connect more areas in Ghaziabad to the network.
