Black Wasps (Spanish: Avispas Negras) are the Special Forces of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba (FAR). They are trained to handle any missions assigned to them by the Cuban government. This force was created in the late 1980s.

The official clothing consists of a camouflage suit, a red beret and a black armband with the image of a wasp stinger ready to attack. The red beret is rarely worn in combat for reasons of camouflage, and is instead replaced by a dark green hood.
The weapons used by the Black Wasps are mostly armament that was given to Cuba by its Communist allies. In recent years however, The Black Wasps have been seen in Military parades with new weapons including weapons of domestic manufacture, and former Soviet weaponry upgraded with accessories like Reflex sights, and silencers, as well as anti-material rifles which have features that are kept top secret.
