Dmitry Maykov (Grigori Dobrigin) is a student of the Moscow State University, and a poor family's son and friend of Maxim (Ivan Zhidkov), a wealthy young student owner of a fancy Mercedes. Jealous of his friend, he asks his parents for a car. His birthday arrives and he has the surprise of his life when his father (Sergei Garmash) gives him a car. Unfortunately for him, isn't the car of his dreams: an old GAZ 21 Volga.
Ashamed by the car, he just makes use of the vehicle to drive to the next tramway stop for going to the university until one day he discovers the Volga is able to fly.
