Billa (Telugu: బిల్లా) is a 2009 Telugu gangster-thriller film film directed by Meher Ramesh, a remake of the 2007 Tamil Film of the same name. But some scenes were changed to suit the Telugu audience. It also drew inspirations from the Telugu film, Yugandhar (1979) which drew inspirations from another Hindi film titled Don and one of Rajinikanth's Tamil film with the same title. Prabhas Raju Uppalapati plays the lead role, where he plays dual roles of the characters Billa and Swami Ranga, with Anushka Shetty and Namitha playing the heroines.[1] The film, which began in October 2008, released in April 2009.[2] Actress Jayasudha, who had earlier starred in Yugandhar (1979) as Jaya, the first Telugu remake of Don, has a guest role as Janaki in this film.

Billa (Prabhas) is a don operating from Malaysia. He sells guns and drugs, but police officer Krishna Murthy (Krishnam Raju) is on his trail.[3] .
A major part of the film was shot in Kualalumpur and Langkawi, Malaysia. Most of the scenes in the film were shot around the Petronas Towers. The first scene of the film was shot in a major shipping yard at the sea shore in Malaysia. Other filming locations include Hyderabad and Vizag.
Indiaglitz gave the verdict as "It is stylish, visually rich."
