Bijalpur is in the south-west suburban of Indore city. It has population of 18000 (Census record 2001). It was included in Indore in 1983.

Bijalpur is situated on National Highway 3 (India) between Rau & Rajendra Nager . It is Equidistant from Indore Central as well as Rau i.e. 5KM. Off late it is one of the hot spots of Real Estate around Indore with many Educational Institutions opening up and construction of 4 Laned concrete Indore Bypass.
Bijalpur is situated at an altitude of about 530 meters above MSL. Climate is sub tropical which is typical in this part of country. Summers are hot and dry followed by monsoon months, with approximate 32-35 inches of rainfall followed by mild winters in the months of Dec-Jan.
Summer daytime temperature can reach 45 °C with 20-25% humidity. Winter night temperature can fall to 5-6 °C with 20-25% humidity. Annual rainfall is about 32-35 inches (800mm)
Many new planned infrastructures are booming around the area such as Indigo Homes,Nice Gardens, Galaxy Resorts etc. There is also a large mall being constructed which will house together a multiplex, mega stores - Big Bazar, V Mart etc.
As of 2001[update] India census[1], Bijalpur had a population of 18000. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Bijalpur has an average literacy rate of 83%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 89%, and female literacy is 74%. In Bijalpur, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
ROAD
Bijalpur is situated on National Highway 3 (India) and has got frequent city bus connection with Indore Palasia-Mhow-Pithampur through an extensive network of city buses, both private and run by Indore city transport limited.
TRAIN
Bijalpur is situated on Longest functioning Metergauge rail line in India from Ratlam to Akola. There are regular passenger train services throughout the day connecting Bijalpur with Indore City, Ratlam, Mhow, Khandwa, Akola, Ujjain. This rail line is being converted into a Standard Broad gauge under Project Unigauge of Indian Railways. There is very less freight traffic on this section.
Nearest broadgauge railway station is the main railway station of Indore, i.e. Indore Junction (INDB), 15 KM away. Indore is one of the major terminus and has regular daily connections to almost all major towns in the country.

The nearest airport is at Indore (Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport) which is approximately 13 km away. Indore airport has daily multiple flights across various national carriers, connecting Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Raipur, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Jabalpur, Nagpur and Gwalior.

It has Government women polytechnic college situated on Bijalpur square. It also have schools & colleges attached to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya and RGPV in its vicinity.
Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, dealing with research in Laser & Nuclear science is also near Bijalpur.
