The selection process for the 1948 Summer Olympics consisted of ten bids, and saw London be selected without election ahead of Baltimore, Lausanne, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Philadelphia. The selection was made at the 39th IOC Session in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1946.[1]
