Bhattewad

The Bhattewad or sometimes pronounced as Bhatiwid are a Jat clan found in the province of Pakistani Punjab and the Indian state of Punjab.[1]

According to their tribal traditions, they are Suryavanshi Rajput by origin, and their ancestor Bhatiwad is said to have migrated from Ayodhya to Amritsar. From their, they spread to Gurdaspur District and Sialkot District. They are largely Sikh, with a small Muslim minority found in Sialkot District. The Sikh Bhattewad are found mainly in Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts.[2]
