Bhajan Sopori

Bhajan Sopori (Kashmiri: भजन सोपोरी (Devanagari), بھجن سوپوری (Nastaleeq)) is an Indian santoor player from Sopore, Kashmir, who was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1993[1] and the Padma Shri in 2004.[2] He is the son of composer Shamboo Nath Sopori & Shobhavati, and the brother of sitar and tabla player Bhushan Lal Sopori. Sopori made technical modifications to the santoor, expanding its range. He currently resides in Delhi, India. He is married with two sons. One of his sons, Abhay Rustam Sopori has also taken to playing santoor.
