As a tier seven leagues, the Bezirksliga exists in Bavaria, Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate (north-western part) and Saxony. As a tier eight league it exists in Baden-Württemberg (Württemberg and South Baden only), Berlin, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate (south-eastern part). As a tier nine league, it exists in the Saarland. No Bezirksligas exist in the North Baden region of Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia.[2]

In the south eastern part of Rhineland-Palatinate the ninth tier is formed by the Bezirksklasse, the only region with a league of that name.[2]
