Bethamchurla, is a census town and mandal headquarters in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Betamcherla sits at an average elevation of 400 meters (1315 feet). This high elevation largely protects the town against rain damage.
The town is surrounded by lands rich in limestone, dolomite deposits, and flooring stones. These resources played a major role in Betamcherlas's economic development.
The town was developed by immigrant families from the northern areas of Andhra Pradesh. In particular, the Reddy families took a major role in developing the town into a business centre.
This town is the highest revenue generator for the electrical department in Kurnool District, as approximately 40-50 small-scale industries line each outgoing road.
Businesses tend to be seasonal and weather-dependent. Mining, for example, must stop when it rains.
Agriculture is concentrated in the village areas surrounding betamcherla, including Gootypalli, Kottala, Malkapuram, and Kotta Palle. Crops include rice, wheat, vegetables, flowers, and green grass.
Raw material for flooring stones comes from mining areas surrounding the town. Around 400-500 small-scale industries mold this material into polished slabs.
Soap stone is milled into Steatite powder, which is used for enhancing the brightness of drafting paper.

At the time of the 2001 India census,[1] RS Rangapuram had a population of 10,977. Males constituted 51% of the population and females 49%. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Bethamcherla has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 59.5%. 62% of males and 38% of females are literate.

ZP High school is a very old school which was constructed by the government.

The town is an important site for religious pilgrims. Among its ten temples, Maddileti Swamy is one of the most famous. Another hilltop temple is known for its view of surrounding lands.
