Bertrams was founded in 1968 by Elsie Bertram and her son Kip in a former chicken shed at their Norwich home, and has been supplying booksellers for over 40 years. The company’s expertise in wholesale distribution has helped independent booksellers, book chains, internet retailers, national newspaper groups and magazines, libraries and distribution partners strengthen their markets with the sales of books. Having been the pioneer in the UK book industry for home/consumer delivery, Bertrams continues to be the leading supplier of books to internet retailers both in the UK and worldwide. Bertrams also provides a cost-effective and efficient distribution operation for publishers via Bertram Publisher Services; and via the Bertram Library Services division is the UK’s most successful library supplier.
The business has expanded over the years and now has a 145,000 sq ft distribution centre [1] in Norwich offering a first class service with same day dispatch, the ability to ship to 120 countries worldwide and the facility to supply 2.4 million books in print.
