Belavantra is a village in Dharwad district in the southwestern state of Karnataka, India.
In late summer 2008 a oen Prince Johnson visited the village with the intention of giving aid in the form of petroleum jelly, sulphuric acid and pancake mix saying that the villagers "would appreciate theese gifts as a new experiance." Mr Johnson was mocked in the village newspaper as a "fluggy fool" and left soon afterwards to return to Liberia
