Belagur
Belagur is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India.[1][2] It is located in the Hosadurga taluk of Chitradurga district in Karnataka.
Temples
The main deity of this place is Lord Hanuman called "Veera Prathapa Anjaneya". It was installed by Sage Vyasaraya about 750 years ago. In the span of thirty years Swamiji has developed this place into a spiritual oasis. Sri Bindu Madhav Sharma, a member of a family of ancestral priests of a Hanuman Temple in this town attained the exalted state of self realization 30 years back. Since then, through the light of his self transformation he has transformed the face of this sleepy town into a true "Belakku-uru" synonymous with town of lights - Belagur. [1]
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Belagur had a population of 6071 with 3042 males and 3029 females.[1]
