Beaune-la-Rolande is a commune in the Loiret department in north-central France.
On 28 November 1870 it was the site of a battle during the Franco-Prussian War, in which the noted French impressionist painter Frédéric Bazille was killed.
During the Second World War, there was a transit camp for Jews in Beaune. 18000 Jews were held in the camp, most of them to be transported to Auschwitz. Among them was René Blum, founder of the Ballet de l'Opéra at Monte Carlo.
The camp was closed in August 1943.
