BeWelcome is a hospitality exchange service that is run by a non-profit organisation. The site was founded in February 2007 [1] by volunteers from another hospitality exchange website Hospitality Club.[2][3] As of November 2011, the organisation has more than 15,000 members from all over the world who offer free accommodation and help during travels.[4] Joining is free and the software behind the site, the BW-rox platform, is free and open-source software.[5][6]

Organisation

Volunteers do the support of BeWelcome and keep the project running. They work in groups or at BeVolunteer. The Nonprofit organization behind BeWelcome, technically a Voluntary association is registered in Rennes (France).
