The Battle of Malpura was a battle between two Indian states, Jaipur (ruled by the Kacchwaha Rajputs) and Gwalior (ruled by the Scindia Marathas). It was the result of a crisis between Jaipur and Sindhia's governments.[1]
From the news of civil war between Sindhia and Holkar in Pune during the commotion of Daulat Rao, Sindhia's management . His persecution of his old and able servants, and above all his quarrel with the widows of the great Mahadji known as the Bhais (Brothers) War. This last dispute originated many affairs among the Sindhia in north India into the greatest contusion while all his officers were ranged in the rival defense and engaged themselves in fighting one another, so Swaipratap Singh made an attempt to profit by these internal dissensions of his enemy prior the Battle of Malpura. In March 1800 Swaipratap Singh openly rejected the money clauses of the treaty of 1791 and started to prepare for battle.
After know view of jaipur kingdom lakhwa dada gathered their troops about 4 miles south from the town of Malpura which about 90 km south west from jaipur near the Hindoli village
Each of the sets of troops were on opposite side of the river Sahodhara. In jaipur army there were one side Rathore and other side Kuchwha army. Lakhwa dada surprised by take at 4 a.m.
They took position in two lines. The first was the pohlman brigade and second was duadrene. In the second line was maratha troops there were about 15000 soldier in lakhwa dada army 6 batalian supply by Holkar and 2 own of lakhwa and one supply by kota reagent. In other jaipur had about 18000 soldier including 5000 rath leader by jodhpur king swai pratap.
