Basic Element (company)

Basic Element (Russian: Базовый элемент, /Bázovyi elyemyént/, or simply “Базэл”) is a diversified investment company founded in 1997 and owned by Oleg Deripaska. It is based in Moscow, Russia.[1]

Basel owns OJSC Kuban Airlines - the Krasnodar territory's passenger carrier, linking the region with Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and other Russian and foreign airports.

In July 2010 Basel revealed its intention to buy Russia’s low-cost airline Sky Express (Скай Экспресс)[7]. In May 2011, Denis Ilyin, head of Basel’s aviation business, became the Sky Express’ CEO.[8]

Tourism services in Russia

OJSC Kuban Territorial Air Communications Agency (TAVS Kuban)[9] operates in ticket sales services, organization of tourist flights and freight traffic, as well as taxi services at Basel Aero airports.
