At the beginning of 2009, french filmmaker Jérémie Carboni followed french writer Daniel Pennac during rehearsals of Bartleby the scrivener's reading in Pépinière Opéra theatre in Paris.[5] "Bartleby the scrivener" is a short story of Herman Melville. Initially, the footage was dedicated at François Duval's work directing, but after the premiere of the show, Jérémie Carboni decided to edit footage and make a documentary with other interviews.
