Balş (Romanian pronunciation: [balʃ] ( listen)) is a town in Olt County, Romania. The town administers three villages: Corbeni, Româna and Teiş.

Etymology

There are three hypotheses about the town's name:

  1. The locality was named after the Balşiţa brook.
