Ballinahown (also spelt Ballynahown; Irish: Baile na hAbhann) is a village in County Westmeath on the N62 regional road in Ireland. It is 10 km (6.2 mi) south of Athlone and 5 km (3.1 mi) east of the River Shannon.

From Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland, 1837:

It was for more than nine centuries the residence of the Malone family, whose ancient mansion, built on the site of an old castle and now unoccupied, is the principal object of interest. The estate, together with the old family mansion, called Ballynahown House, has at length passed into other hands. Here is a constabulary police station. - Ref [1]
Ballinahown is home to the work of a large selection of Midlands Arts and Crafts workers, not least the famous Celtic Roots studio where you may see a demonstration of the art of Oak Sculpture and learn of the cultural significance of the materials.
