Bal Bharati Public School (BBPS) one of the largest institutions providing education at school level in India. A philanthropist, Padma Vibhushan Lala Hansraj Gupta, along with his fellow luminaries founded the parent body, the Child Education Society.

History

Padma Vibhushan Lala Hansraj Gupta established the school more than six decades ago. The school spread over 6 acres (24,000 m2) of prime land, housed in two wings one at Pusa Road and the other at Ganga Ram Hospital Marg. Other Bal Bharati Schools have been set up.

The chairman of the school is Mr. K. K. Khullar, President, Child Education Society.

In 2011, Vaibhav Sapra and Sharanjeet Singh, Class XII students of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, discovered a main belt asteroid (2011 QM14) and Pragya Chawla, Class XII student and Aparajita Aggarwal, Class XI student of Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, discovered a rare trojan asteroid (2011 MV9). [1]

"Let noble thoughts come to us from all sides" – derived from "Aa No Bhadra Kratvi Yantu Vishwatah". The school motto "Hanso Nayatu Naha Pragyam" is depicted in the image of a child astride a soaring swan.

The houses at GRH Marg branch are:
Abhimanyu, Ashoka, C.V. Raman, Jawahar, Mother Teresa, Shastri, Shivaji, and Subhash.

However, the Pitampura branch has different names for the houses, namely:
Gurunanak, Vivekanand, Dayanand, and Kabir.

And the houses in Brij Vihar branch are, namely:
Ashoka, Chandragupta, Harshvadhan and Vikramaditya.

The houses in Noida branch are:
"Shanti, Shakti, Satya and Sewa."

The houses in Dwarka branch are:
"Amity,Equality,Freedom,Peace,Unity and Progress."

The house in Rohini branch are:
"Amity,Equality,Empathy,Freedom,Peace,Truth,Unity and Wisdom"
