The Finance Director is an appointed position of the city of Bakersfield, California. It is one of five position mandated by the City Charter and one of three positions appointed by the City Manger. The duties of the Finance Director are laid out in Article IV, Section 20 of the City Charter. The director is responsible for the city's finances, assets, and collection of taxes.[1] The director also assists the City Manager in drafting a budget and provides financial reports to the City Council and city departments. The director is also the head of the Financial Department. His office is located in City Hall North.[2]
