Axilspot hogfish, Bodianus axillaris, belongs to the Labridae family of marine fish. Adult fish are about 20 centimeters long, red-brown anteriorly, and white posteriorly. Juveniles are black with two rows of large white spots. It has a large dark sport on the pectoral fin base, on the soft dorsal fin and on the anal fin. The species is mainly in the Indo-Pacific and it is also an aquarium fish.[1] It mainly feeds on benthic hard-shell invertebrates.[2]
