Axel Bellinghausen (born 17 May 1983 in Siegburg, North Rhine-Westphalia[1]) is a German football player who currently plays for FC Augsburg in the 1. Bundesliga.
At the age of five, he started with playing football in at TuS 05 Oberpleis. In 1993, when he was ten years old, he went to Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He left Bayer 04 Leverkusen five years later to play for Fortuna Düsseldorf where he became a professional football player in 2001. In 2005, he signed with Kaiserslautern, where he was made team captain in March 2008. On 30 June 2009, he left the club[2] to join FC Augsburg, where he signed a two-year contract.[3]
