Assendelft () is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Zaanstad, and lies about 13 km northeast of Haarlem. Assendelft was a separate municipality until 1974, when the municipality of Zaanstad was formed.[1]
The statistical district "Assendelft", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 21,000.[2]
The town is served by Krommenie-Assendelft railway station. From here, there are four trains an hour to Amsterdam, with a journey time of 25 minutes.
