Ashampoo GmbH & Co. KG (pronounced a-shampoo) is an international computer software company based in Oldenburg, Germany. They are best known for Ashampoo Burning Studio and Ashampoo WinOptimizer. They are general members of the Blu-ray Disc Association[1] and a member of the Intel Software Partner Program[2].

Ashampoo was founded in 1999 by Rolf Hilchner (CEO of Ashampoo). The company's name was formed during a discussion about their first product, an uninstaller utility software, when Rolf Hilchner mentioned that "it cleans your Windows like a shampoo".[3] Their first published product was AudioCD MP3 Studio 2000. They have since published software for office productivity, security, optical disc authoring, system utility, multimedia, and CAD.
In 2007 they began producing several German web portals starting with airshampoo.de[4], and in 2008, netcar.de, enimal.com, and others.
In 2011 they claimed to have over 14 million customers.[5]
