Arianites

The Arianites were a medieval Byzantine noble family of whom the most notable is the early 11th-century strategos autokrator of Bulgaria, David Arianites. Their name could denote an ethnic origin, "Aryans" i.e. from Ariana.[1]

The family had by the late 13th/early 14th century appeared in Albania, where it produced several important rulers (see Arianiti family).
