Arab Bridge Maritime Company (شركة الجسر العربي للملاحة) was founded in november 1985, to connect commercial routes in Asia and Africa. The company was founded by the governments of Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan.
The company has its headquarters in Aqaba and has branches in Amman and Cairo. AB Maritime also has offices in Alexandria, Sharm El Sheikh, Taba, Baghdad, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Mecca, Madina, Doha, and in Riyadh.
The company also owns 50% of the Arab Ship Management Company and 30% of Jordan Academy for Maritime studies.

Arab Bridge Maritime is the outcome of the significant joint venture between the governments of Jordan, Egypt and Iraq. AB Maritime was founded in November 1985 with a paid-up capital of $6 million distributed equally between the three partner governments. The capital was increased from profits several times to become $81 million in2011.
Due to the strategic location of both Aqaba and Nuweiba as the only gateway between the Arab countries in both Africa and Asia, the company was granted an exclusive concession by the governments of Jordan and Egypt to operate the Aqaba-Nuweiba ferry service line for the transportation of passengers, goods and vehicles of all sorts.
The Company started its operations with hired vessels, but AB Maritime currently owns its own fleet of six vessels with an estimated value of over $ 80 million and is planning to increase its fleet force in the near future in order to serve the current expansion of its operations.

ABMaritime’s capital was increased from profits to become $81 millions in 2011. The launching of “Book in Advance” automated service which allows the customers to book their tickets prior to the trip from any ABM offices at Jordan, KSA, Egypt, Syria and The Gulf countries. Build a desalination plant in Nuweiba to provide pure water to the fleet. Signing contracts with new agents in Syria, KSA and The Gulf countries. A new ship joined the fleet to operate on the line between Dubba/Safaga. Operate a route between Suez-Jeddah to transport goods using “Bridge”. AB maritime chosen as the agent for land and maritime Iraqi imports from Jordan.

AB Maritime introduced the services of high speed crafts “Babel”, "The princess" and "Queen Nefertiti" with the aim of encouraging tourists to visit resorts in South Sina (Taba, Nuweibaa’, Dahab, and Sharm Al Sheikh) and also to explore the golden triangle in Jordan Aqaba, Rum and Petra.
This step has had a major role in promoting tourism between Asia and Africa by providing excellent services for tourists in terms of completion of travel procedures on board, also fast travel from one country to another in less than an hour, along with distinguished service with unique, enjoyable and safe trips.
AB Maritime will work on strengthening the service of the touristic line by using the competitive advantage for Aqaba being an economical free zone and for Petra being one of the Seven Wonders of the World throughout organizing regular touristic trips.
The company operates a fleet of six vessels: The Princess, Queen Nefertiti,Babel, Black Iris, Bridge, Aylah And Amman.
The fleet operates on the lines connecting Aqaba in Jordan to Nuwaiba in Egypt and Aqaba to Taba. The line Dheba in Saudi Arabia to Safaga in Egypt is scheduled to be operational in 2013.
