Tsebelda

Аpsilia (абх. Аҧстәыла)) (the second name - Tsebelda) - late ancient and early medieval public education of the abkhaz tribe Apsilae (апсилов).

The historical science is known from the 1ST century ad. Appropriate archaeological culture is called the Tsebelda culture.
Approximately 730 a.d. was absorbed by the surrounding, more powerful principality Abasgoi, on the basis of which, as well as after the inclusion of territories and people Misiminia, it turned out later the Kingdom of Abkhazia.

Located on the territory of modern Abkhazia on the Black sea coast between the rivers Psirzcha (Псырцха) (near the present New Athos) and Aaldzga known also under the historical name "Tsebelda".

Consisted of two historical regions - Gumae and Abzhywa.
The most important of the city and the fortress: Tusuml (Тусумэ), Tsibilae (Цибила), Pustae (Пуста), Zkibin (Цкыбын), Skotar (Скотор), Mokva (Моква).
Capital - Sebastopolis.

Here (the end of the I - beginning of the II century) of the rules of their own (local) of the king, named "Julian - King Аpsilia". Approved in the power of the roman emperor Trajan (98-117.).
