Appsbar is a tool to build and publish apps for use on smartphones and tablet devices.
A beta version of appsbar was introduced on April 28, 2011 as the first tool that fills the gap between over-simplified apps and costly, professionally-produced apps. Appsbar was welcomed by business, and consumer media as a way to create professional, personalized apps for use on mobile device with no cost, and without the interruption of advertising.[1]
Appsbar offers one platform where a Personal Computer can be used create and submit apps to popular app stores. It offers personalization opportunities through an interface that guides users through the entire process, including creation, editing, and publication with visual and textual clues at each step. As users build apps page by page, each app becomes more personalized through using combinations of background colors and fonts and the ability to upload images and videos from personal libraries. Appsbar also allows users to use appsbar’s library of images.[2]
According to Apple CEO Tim Cook [3] more than 1 billion apps are downloaded from the Apple App Store each month. Apps have become a core part of personal social networking and business marketing plans. The recent proliferation of app tools have opened development and design opportunities where once apps could be costly for individuals and small businesses to develop and publish. Appsbar was introduced as a tool that gives anyone from tech expert to beginner an outlet to build relatively professional, customized apps. [4]
Appsbar does not charge a fee to start an account, to create an app, or to publish an app. Appsbar uses proprietary filters throughout the creation process so users can immediately know if they are adding (or not adding) details that would prevent the app from being published. [5]
Appsbar apps can be created using PCs, Macs and tablets. This desktop design solution allows users to create, save and edit an unlimited number of apps throughout the publication process. Appsbar gives guidance through a “wizard” so creators can get apps that meet guidelines from app stores including iTunes and Android Market.
Appsbar apps are automatically optimized for use on smartphones developed by Apple, and Android. Appsbar does not currently support app designs for use on BlackBerry or Windows devices.
With appsbar, builders can also choose to combine limitless combination's of technologies used to build professional apps. Appsbar is the first app builder to offer unique features such as an Event Notifier function that delivers real time or scheduled notifications to app users, and a menu feature that allows the user to catalog products or services – key tools for friends and businesses and their customers to have two-way interactions.
Appsbar guides creators through the entire process – from creation to publication - with visual and textual clues at each step. Creators build their own page designs by choosing from a rainbow palette of background colors, text styles and images (either their own or from appsbar’s library).
Appsbar was developed by Appsbar Inc., a company co-founded by Scott Hirsch and Arsen Pereymer.
Each app that appsbar submits to an app store is done by an "app coach" who is an experienced developer that tests each app during the submission process. This "app coach" is listed on the app as the developer. [6]. appsbar lets each user choose the name of the app they are building. It builds in levels of customization for users so anyone who downloads an app will know who built the app. [7]
