Ansina is a town (villa) in the Tacuarembó Department of northern-central Uruguay. It is located on the junction of Route 26 with Route 44, on the east bank of Tacuarembó River. Its status was elevated to "Pueblo" category on 5 October 1950 by decree Ley No. 11.530,[1] and then to "Villa" category on 3 May 1984 by decree Ley No. 15.539.[2]
In 2004 it had a population of 2,790.[3]
