Annot is a commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

Geography

It is situated on the banks of the Vaïre river which flows right through the centre of town. It is located 15 km west of Entrevaux.[1]

The city is located in a resurgence of sandstone, surrounded by limestone mountains as high as 680 meters. Acidic soils on the left bank of the Vaïre allow chestnuts to be grown.
