Annamalai Ramanathan
Annamalai Ramanathan (born 1949 August 29) is an Indian mathematician working in algebraic geometry, who introduced the notion of Frobenius splitting of algebraic varieties in (Mehta & Ramanathan 1985). This led to the solution of many problems about Schubert varieties, such as the Demazure character formula.
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 1991 for his work in algebraic geometry.
