Ann Valentine

Ann Valentine (11 January 1762 – 13 October 1842) was an English organist and composer.

Life

Ann Valentine was born on 11 January 1762 in Leicester and christened on 15 March.[1] Her father was the composer John Valentine II. Ann Valentine lived in Belgrave Gate and worked as organist at St Margaret's Church, Leicester until 1834. She published popular music for piano, some of it with voices and instrumental accompaniment.[2] The Ten Sonatas for piano with violin or flute (ca.1790) and Monny Musk arranged as a rondo for piano (ca.1798) are published in modern editions.
