Anjuman-e-Himayat-e-Islam

The Anjuman-e-Himayat-e-Islam (Urdu: انجمن حمایت اسلام) is an Islamic intellectual and political organisation based in the city of Lahore, Pakistan. Founded in the late 19th century, the body composed of Muslim intellectuals and politicians seeking to reform Muslim society and work on its development. Some of its most prominent members included the poet Sir Muhammad Iqbal, who recitated his first poems at sessions of the Anjuman.
