Andrzej Kupczyk (born 26 October 1948) is a retired Polish runner who specialized in the 800 metres.
He was born in Świdnica and represented the club Polonia Świdnica.[1] He finished sixth in the 800 metres at the 1969 European Championships,[2] finished fifth in the same event at the 1970 European Indoor Championships,[3] and won the bronze medal in the same event at the 1971 European Indoor Championships.[4] He became Polish champion in 1971 and 1973, and also in the 1500 metres in 1970.[5] His personal best time was 1:46.3 minutes, achieved in July 1972 at Bislett stadion.[6]
At the 1972 European Indoor Championships he won a bronze medal in 4 x 720 metres relay together with Zenon Szordykowski, Krzysztof Linkowski and Stanisław Waśkiewicz.[7] In the summer he competed at the 1972 Olympic Games, finishing seventh in the 800 metres event.[1]
He is the father of bobsledder Dawid Kupczyk.[1]
