Anavyssos
Anavyssos (Greek: Ανάβυσσος) is a town and a former municipality in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Saronikos, of which it is a municipal unit.[1]
The GR-91 connects it with Cape Sounion to the southeast and Athens to the northwest. The neighboring towns are Saronida to the northwest and Palaia Fokaia to the south. At the 2001 census it had 7,189 inhabitants. There are mountains to the northwest and to the southeast, and the Saronic Gulf lies to the southwest. Housing developments began slowly between the 1970s and the 1990s. The elevation is about 1 m in the centre. The settlement dates back to ancient times. Pine forests are in the west. It is a popular tourist attraction.
