Anaspidoglanis is a genus of catfishes (order Siluriformes) of the family Claroteidae. It contains three species, A. akiri, A. boutchangai, and A. macrostomus.[1]
The species of this genus occur in the Lower Guinean Region (excluding the Nigerian coastal rivers) and Zaire.[2] A. akiri is distributed in Niger River delta, New Calabar River and Bonny River in Nigeria. A. boutchangai is known only from its type locality Ngounié or Louetsi River in Gabon. A. macrostomus is distributed in South Cameroon, Gabon, and Congo River system.[1]
A. akiri grows to 10.7 cm (4.2 in) SL.[3] A. boutchangai grows to 22.5 cm (8.9 in) TL.[4] A. macrostomus grows to 24.0 cm (9.4 in) TL.[5]
A. macrostomus is nocturnal and crepuscular. It preys on insect larvae, crustaceans, and small fish.[5]
